0.30 WIP Release of the Assetto Corsa Modding Manual 3.0

Waiting for a ride.

Who needs advertisement? It's been more than a year since I started, so it should be enough.

If you are a regular of this blog, welcome back! If you're new, well, have fun!

I noticed how people have found a new interest in ACC. Mah, probably that's because of the latest DLC. And literally days later someone ripped the cars to bring them to AC, as usual. 😩 Jesse, another lot of bad conversions incoming!

Now, what about this release of the manual? I didn't have much time (that's why it's a revision B) and I couldn't do all of what I would've liked to. I honestly don't know if it's worth of being downloaded, it has only five or six more pages than the previous one, but here is a list of the changes, which are not major:

- Advice in the paragraph of the AC User Manual dedicated to controllers, for users who can't afford a steering wheel and find themselves with mouse and keyboard. Useful for physics modders from this point of view.

- Additions and corrections in the car physics and configs.

- I keep trying to fit more stuff in less pages; an example is with the paragraphs dedicated to telemetry. There were too many images, not to mention the low resolution. Now I put them together.

- Since I'm tired of the confusion that people (included myself 😅) keep making with power/torque curves for engines and vehicles, I decided to change the modding history of AC forever once again (😂 seriously, what is wrong with me?). Finally, the inappropriate filename "power.lut " will almost completely disappear from my manual, to be replaced with "torque.lut ". Since that file ALWAYS specified torque values, NOT power, I see no reason to keep being lazy (unlike the entire modding scene) and call it the wrong way.

I noticed that some high quality mods do adopt this strategy too.

- I've decided that I will include CSP features in my manual. I'll start very slowly, with those I believe are the more stable, definitive and helpful (bugfixes, etc.).

- Moreover, I removed from this website the download links fot many of the older versions of the manual. They were occupying too much space on my cloud archive. Besides, what's the point of keeping them available? They have many errors and are mostly incomplete. To prove the progress I made? Bah, I still have all of them archived on my PC, with dates and everything. If someone will want them (hopefully few people), they can ask.

- One last thing: really by chance I managed to get my hands on the original source code of NetKar Pro's graphics engine, but I can't do much with it, since I'm no programmer 😅.

AC NEWS:

Recently they changed the style of the official website of AC (https://assettocorsa.gg/assetto-corsa/#cars), but they made it worse (less intuitive), and STILL forgot about the dear old Audi S1. They didn't even look at what they were doing. Once again:

This is a WIP (Work-In-Progress) project. You can consider these releases early betas.
